Description:
The encoded protein possesses 3'-5' exoribonuclease activity. It has been implicated in post-transcriptional silencing with a possible role in mature miRNA 3'-end processing. It is involved in the trimming of Ago1-loaded miRNAs to enhance target RNA repression. A variant in this gene associated with changes in the total number of white blood cells and neutrophils in sickle cell anaemia.
