Description:
TRPS1 (transcriptional repressor GATA binding 1) is a zinc finger transcriptional repressor. It binds specifically to GATA sequences and represses expression of GATA-regulated genes at selected sites and stages in vertebrate development. It is involved in the regulation of chondrocyte and perichondrium development. GATA1 is a key regulator of erythroid development [GeneID: 40]. LINC00536 (long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 536) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). lncRNAs act as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) to regulate target genes in several pathways including cell proliferation and apoptosis. They have an important role in cancer prognosis and pathogenicity. LINC00536 is associated with the development of breast cancer. Genetic variance in the TRPS1-LINC00536 intergenic region associated with haematological parameters (e.g., red blood cell count).
