Description
Since the 1950s, Guangxi Key Laboratory of Thalassemia Research has carried out research on the prevention and treatment of thalassemia, which is one of the earliest organisation to carry out the prevention and treatment of thalassemia in China. Through the efforts of several generations, the research on thalassemia has formed a professional characteristic and advantageous discipline, which integrates clinical service, scientific research, teaching and personnel training.
In 2013, science magazine "news focus" (Science, 10 may, 2013, Vol 340) reported the research work on thalassemia prevention and control carried out by our team and the prevention and control plan of the Chinese government.
